Support

One of the many things we need to do before we head out to the Potter's Field Missions Training School at the beginning of next year (and then onto El Salvador) is to raise support.  Our daily prayer is that God would raise up an army of prayer and financial supporters.  This past week we were approved as missionaries with Shepherd's Staff (their link is on the right).  Shepherd's Staff is a non-profit, missions minded organization that specializes in handling the finances (donations, taxes, etc.) of missionaries and church employees.  We are excited to partner with them as they bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and accountability.  As soon as we finish all of our paperwork with them, those who feel led, will be able to find us under the Missionaries tab and make donations on-line through an Electronic Funds Transfer.  These donations will also be tax deductible as well.  More details to come.

God has also been opening up doors for us to be able to share the calling and vision to many different individuals and groups.  This Monday, December 6th, Randy will have the opportunity to share a bit of his testimony and vision with the Men's Group at Calvary Chapel Delaware County.  If you are around and interested, please come, everyone is invited. Prayer is at 6:45 and the study starts at 7:30.

More to come.......

First Post

Gilbert family self portrait
Well folks, this is our first attempt at blogging or putting any kind of communication out there about who we are, where we're heading, and how we're getting there.  We feel called to serve God in El Salvador through Potter's Field Ministries and are in the beginning stages of raising support (prayer and financial), renting out our home in Media, PA (let us know if you are interested), selling one of our cars (let us know if you are interested) and packing up (once again, let us know if you are interested) :)

Our timing is to be heading out to the Potter's Field headquarters in Whitefish, MT at the end of February 2010.  We will be starting their four month missions training school at the beginning of March and hopefully be in El Salvador next summer.

We will be updating this as often as possible. But to get started, here are a few pictures of us for you to get to know us.  We love and covet your prayers and encouragement right now and please let us know how we can pray for you as well.  More to come....
